Foot and Ankle Surgery in Macomb County, Michigan

Painful Feet and Joints

When your feet are cramped inside shoes that are too tight, deformities can happen, causing pain and discomfort. High heels and shoes with little toe space cause your toes to cramp together. This cramping can cause the joints in your feet to become deformed, causing bunions and hammertoes. Both of these problems can cause decreased mobility and intense pain. At Dr. Edward S. Gordon, D.P.M., P.C., and Dr. Timothy Snyder, D.P.M., P.C. we’ll help treat these problems so you can walk pain-free again.
Foot Surgery

Treating Bunions

Bunions happen when your big toe joint becomes misaligned and tender. Bunions cause the first joint on your big toe to slant outward and the second joint to slant inward, causing a visible, painful defect.
When you come to our office, we’ll start with conservative treatment options, like better shoes, rest and more. If your feet do not respond to these gentler treatments, our expert doctor and staff will perform corrective surgery. During surgery, we will remove the bump (the bunion) and correct your toe’s structure, alleviating future pain and stopping the progression of your bunion.

Treating Hammertoes

Hammertoes occur when toes bend at the middle joint, causing them to look like a hammer from a piano. This bend in the toe can make wearing shoes difficult and uncomfortable.

At Edward S. Gordon, D.P.M., P.C. and Dr. Timothy Snyder, we’ll provide the treatment you need to walk comfortably again. Like bunions, treatment for hammertoes beginsith gentle, surgery-free treatments. If your toe becomes stiff and inflexible even with these simpler treatments, we will use surgery to straighten your toe and restore your feet.
